When Head Springs Depot’s co-owner, Seth Hall, heard about the Home With Heart project with Willow Branch Homes to benefit Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, he knew they had to jump in and do their part. Not just because of the amazing cause it’s supporting, but also for the Hall family’s personal experience with this incredible local children’s hospital.
Seth’s nephew, Greyson, was a heart warrior at Monroe Carell. He was born on August 31, 2018, in Franklin, Tennessee, and was emergency transported to Monroe Carell at 3 days old. After spending his initial time in the NICU, he was admitted for open-heart surgery at 6 weeks old. From there, they began the listing process for a transplant.
They were going into the final stage of the transplant process when the cardiologist came in and said, “I don’t know what else to say other than God has played a huge role in your child’s life. His heart levels are stable.”
“He is a reminder that miracles happen. We get to celebrate him every day,” says Seth. “The hands that served him at Monroe Carell were incredible. We feel such a debt of gratitude to them for everything they did for our family.”
In addition to the team of doctors, the nurses and staff also played a big role in making the sterile environment of a hospital feel cozy and like home with blankets, toys, hats, and more. They went above and beyond, making sure every baby felt loved and every family supported. “Monroe Carell became our home away from home, but at the end of the day, we were so glad to go to our home,” says Greyson’s parents, Bethany and Cole.
Now, Head Springs Depot can bring it full circle by being a part of the third annual Home With Heart, hosted by Willow Branch Homes. Home has deep meaning to the team at Head Springs Depot. “It’s what we do,” says Seth. “We help people turn houses into homes and create spaces where people can make memories.” This beautiful home valued at over $800,000 in Thompson Station has been staged with unique furniture from Head Springs Depot to elevate the exceptional space.
